In 1962, Dr. Edward Thorp used computers to determine the best way to play blackjack casino games. He reported that his findings in his landmark book Beat the Dealer, which debuted its basic strategy chart. Since then the list has been widely reprinted and updated by other mathematicians for different rule conditions. For example, the basic strategy for single-deck game is different from the strategy for a set of six floors, although very similar. Basic strategy charts abound on the Internet and in numerous books on blackjack, and indeed the gift shop at most online casinos land normally sells a small basic strategy card for just $ 1.50.
You might think that the basic strategy provides the best chance and that is publicly available than most players and distributors would be familiar with it. But that’s where you would be wrong. I found I rarely, rarely with a player who played in accordance with the proper basic strategy.
